Avanti Go Setup: How To Set Up the Mobile App

As an administrator, you will need to setup Avanti Go in order for your employees to use the Avanti Go App on their phone. 

This document will guide you through setting up the following on Avanti Go:

  • Profile
  • Pay Statements
  • User Login

Additional setup is required to use Notification and display Schedules. Once you have completed this initial set up for Avanti Go, please see the following: 

To setup Avanti Go, complete the following: 

  • Add the Avanti Go Menus to the System Menu
  • Configure Avanti Go
  • Add the programs to the Mobile Menu

Additional Information
Web Services is required to use Avanti Go.

Add the Avanti Go Menus to the System Menu

The following steps will guide you through adding the Mobile Menu to the System Menu.

Step 1: Select ‘Display Update Menu’ in System Administration >> System Menu >> System Menu. 

 

Once Display Update Menu is selected, an additional column, ‘Update Menu’, will display. The ‘Update Menu’ displays all the available menu items. 

Step 2: Under Web Services >> Installation and Maintenance, Mobile Menu should be displayed in red. If it is, right-click on the item and select ‘Add New in Avanti Menu’. 

If Mobile Menu is not red, it has already on your menu, congratulations! The Mobile Menu is already on the System Menu and you can skip to Configure Avanti Go. 

Additional setup is required to use notification and schedules. Once you have completed this initial set up for Avanti Go, please see the following: 

Step 4: Now that you have finished updating the System Menu, select OK to save your changes. 

Configure Avanti Go

Avanti Go uses a combination of the settings that impact ASSP and settings that only impact Avanti Go. The following guides you through the new settings, which only impact Avanti Go: 

  • Set Up the Profile
  • Set Up Pay Statements
  • Set Up the User Login
  • Set Up the Mobile Menu

Set Up the Profile

By default, employees will not be able to update their names on Avanti Go. If you are satisfied with this setup, skip to the Set Up Pay Statements section.

If you would like employees to be able to update their name, complete the following:

 Employees can only update their names if they can edit the Profile. The access to edit is based on modify permissions to the Profile Mobile Menu and settings that impact both ASSP and Avanti Go.

Step 1: Log into the Avanti Self-Service Portal and select the Company Settings tab in Administration >> Administration Settings on the Avanti Self-Service Portal.

Step 2: Enter MobileSettings.EmployeesCanChangeName into search. Ensure there are no trailing spaces. 

Step 3: Select Edit

Step 4: Select the checkbox beside Value. Select Save.

Step 5: Select Reload Settings.

Congratulations! You have completed the setup for the Profile on Avanti Go. 

Set Up Pay Statements

The following section will guide through setting up the following on Pay Statements: 

  • Pay Statement Display
  • Mask the Direct Deposit Account

By default, pay statements will display both the details and formatted PDF file. When employees view the details display, all characters of the direct deposit account will be masked except for the last four characters. If you are satisfied with this setup, skip to the Set Up the User Login section.

Pay Statement Display

Select how pay statements will display on Avanti Go. Users can view pay statements as Details, PDFs or both.

Details View

The Details View will appear similar to the following: 

                        Android                                            iOS

 

PDF View

The PDF will display the employees pay statement based on their pay statement set up and will appear similar to the following: 

                        Android                                           iOS

 

By default, Pay Statements will display both Details and PDF. If you are satisfied with this setup, skip to the Mask the Direct Deposit Account section. 

If you would like to change to display only Details or only PDF, complete the following:

Step 1: Log into the Avanti Self-Service Portal and select the Company Settings tab in Administration >> Administration Settings on the Avanti Self-Service Portal.

Step 2: Enter MobileSettings.PayStatementView into search. Ensure there are no trailing spaces. 

Step 3: Select Edit

Step 4: Update the Value: 

To display Details, update the Value to: Detail 

To display PDF, update the Value to: PDF

Step 5: Select Save.

Step 6: Select Reload Settings

Congratulations! You have completed the set up for Pay Statements display.

Mask the Direct Deposit Account

Determine how the direct deposit account will mask on the Details display for Pay Statements. 

When employees view the Details display, by default all characters of the direct deposit account will be masked except for the last four characters. If you are satisfied with this setup, or are not displaying Details, skip to the Set Up the User Login section.

If you would like to change the mask on the direct account, complete the following:

Step 1: Log into the Avanti Self-Service Portal and select the Company Settings tab in Administration >> Administration Settings on the Avanti Self-Service Portal.

Step 2: Enter PayStatementSettings.BankAccountMask into search. Ensure there are no trailing spaces. 

Step 3: Select Edit

Step 4: Update the Value to the number of digits that should be display. The remaining characters will be masked with a *. If you would like all the characters to be displayed, enter -1.

 If the employee’s direct deposit account has a space, this will count as a displayed account digit.

Step 5: Select Save.

Step 6: Select Reload Settings

Congratulations! You have completed the set up for Pay Statements on Avanti Go. 

Set Up the User Login 

By default, employees will need to log into Avanti Go once a week. If you are satisfied with this setup, skip to the Set Up the User Login section

If you would like to change how often users must log in to Avanti Go, complete the following:

Step 1: Log into the Avanti Self-Service Portal and select the System Settings tab in Administration >> Administration Settings on the Avanti Self-Service Portal.

Step 2: Enter AppServiceRefreshTokenExpiryInHours into search. Ensure there are no trailing spaces. 

Step 3: Select Edit

Step 4: Update the Value to the number of hours before users have to log in. Select Save

 This can be up to 2160 hours.

Step 5: Select Save

Step 6: Select Reload Settings

Congratulations, you have updated how often users must log in to Avanti Go.

Set Up the Mobile Menu

By default, the following menus will be available to add to the Mobile Menu. 

  • Profile
  • Pay Statements
  • Web Punch
  • Web Punch (With Breaks)
  • Time Management
    • Schedules

The following will guide you through adding the menu items you want to feature. 

Step 1: Determine which menu items should be displayed. 

Web Punch, Web Punch (With Breaks), Time Management, and Schedules should not be added if you do not have Time & Attendance or are not planning to set these up immediately. For more information on setting up Time & Attendance, please refer to the following article.

Step 2: Select Display Update Menu in Web Menu >> Installation & Maintenance >> Mobile Menu

Once you select Display Update Menu, an additional column, Update Menu, will display. The Update Menu displays all the available menu items. 

Step 3: Select to add, right-click and select Add New in Avanti Menu

Step 4: Repeat Step 2 and 3 for each menu item you would like to add. 

Step 5: Now that you have finished updating the Mobile Menu, select OK to save your changes.

Congratulations! You have finished setting up Avanti Go.
