Completing Your 2020 PD27

This is last year's information. Check back in January for more info!

Avanti has provided a report to help you gather the information necessary to complete your PD27. If you haven’t completed your 2020 PD27, one will need to be created and submitted if:

  • You took advantage of the Temporary Wage Subsidy (TWS)

  • You’re planning to take advantage of TWS

  • You took advantage of Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), regardless of whether you took advantage of TWS.

Additional Information
If you don’t complete and submit a PD27, the CRA will assume that you claimed the max TWS and reduce your CEWS by $25000.

For more information on PD27, please go to the CRA information on Reporting the TWS to the CRA.

Important Information
Before running this report, ensure that all your earnings and taxable benefits have the correct tax slip boxes selected. Go to Review Tax Slip Boxes Indicated on Codes for more information.

Additional TWS Information

This subsidy has a limit of $25,000 per employer. For more information on the 10% Temporary Wage Subsidy for Employers, please see the CRA website (FAQ).

If you're eligible for both the 10% and 75% subsidies or aren’t sure which subsidies you're eligible for, please see the CRA website (Emergency Wage Subsidy). Per the version posted on April 1st, you may claim both. However, the 10% Temporary Wage Subsidy claim will count against the amount you can claim under the 75% Emergency Wage Subsidy.

PD27 Report Overview

The PD27 report gathers some of the payroll information to assist in completing your PD27. It includes the pay period information for the gross remuneration, the tax deducted, CPP Contributions, and EI Premiums.

The report is filtered, so it’s closer to the required date range; it includes all pay periods with a payment date or a pay ending date within March 18 and June 19, 2020.

The Report Totals, which you can find at the end of the report, displays the number of employees included in the report and the total claimable subsidy. The maximum claimable subsidy is 10% of earnings and taxable benefits, up to $25,000.

Please confirm all the information is accurate before completing your PD27.
