As an administrator, you may want to adjust the maximum size of any file uploaded on ASSP by managers or employees.
If managers or employees try to upload a file that is larger than the maximum file size, an error will occur and they will be unable to upload the file.
Note: Uploading large files may result in performance issues.
Step 1: Log into the Avanti Self-Service Portal and select the Company Settings tab in Administration >> Administration Settings on the Avanti Self-Service Portal.
Step 2: Enter FileSizeLimitInBytes into search. Ensure there are no trailing spaces.
Step 3: Select Edit.
Step 4: Update Value to the maximum file size, in bytes. Select Save.
For allowing files 4 MB or smaller
This change will take effect within a day. If you would like these changes to take effect immediately, an IIS reset is required.
- If you are a SaaS Client, please contact Client Care and request an IIS reset.
- If you are an On-Premise client, please contact your IT to request an IIS reset.
*An IIS reset will log all users out of ASSP, and any unsaved changes will be lost.
Congratulations! The maximum allowed file size when uploading documents on ASSP is now updated.
For allowing files larger than 4 MB
To allow the upload of files larger than 4 MB in any company on ASSP, you will also need to update the web.config file on the Web Server.
This change will require ASSP downtime. Users logged into ASSP during this change will be logged out, and all unsaved changes will be lost.
SaaS Clients: Please contact Client Care and request to update maxRequestLength to the maximum file size you require. This file size is in kilobytes.
On-Premise Clients: Please contact your IT to request they update maxRequestLength to the maximum file size you require. This can be found in the <system.web> section of the config file and is in kilobytes.
Congratulations! You have successfully updated the maximum size of files that can be uploaded on the Avanti Self-Service Portal.
The setup of your Web Server can also restrict the maximum size of files that can be uploaded. MaxAllowedContentLength will impact the maximum size of files on every website running on the Web Server.
If you are still experiencing issues with file size restrictions:
On-Premise Clients: Contact your IT and advise them to review the maxAllowedContentLength on the Web Server.
SaaS Clients: Contact Client Care.
