Delivering Tax Slips to Employees

Wondering how to deliver tax slips to your current and past employees? You can provide these tax slips through email, by printing to send via mail, or, even better yet, by allowing employees secure, direct access on the Avanti Self-Service Portal:

  • T4 and T4A

  • RL-1 and RL-2

  • NR4

  • T4A-RCA

Additional Information
Tax slips are provided in the employee’s language, either French or English, selected on the Personal tab of the Employee Profile.

Providing Tax Slips on ASSP

Put your tax slips on autopilot by including them on the Avanti Self-Service Portal. Here, employees can access their tax slips on demand, so there won’t be any more requests for HR or Payroll to replace lost tax slips.

There’s no need to worry about tax slips being available too early; you determine when tax slips are available on ASSP, allowing you all the time you need to review.

If you’re not currently displaying Tax Slips on ASSP, you can allow employees access to their tax slips and set them up on ASSP anytime, so they’re ready to go in the new year.

Emailing Tax Slips

Go paperless and save trees with Email Tax Slips. Email is an easy way to safely and securely give your employees their tax slips. You can tailor the emails to suit your organization’s needs by adjusting the email’s subject and message for English and French employees. The tax slips are attached as password-protected PDFs.

Your employees must have either a Tax Slips or Primary (Default) email, and Electronic Tax Slips must be selected on the Personal tab of their Employee Profile. You can easily update all employees to have Electronic Tax Slips selected using reapply employment defaults. Check out Update Employee Information for All Employees for more details.

Additional Information
Sometimes, these emails end up in your employee’s junk mail. You may have to advise employees to check there if they don’t receive their tax slips.

Printing Tax Slips

You can print tax slips and mail them to your employees. Printing tax slips include the background of the tax slip and the employee tax slip information.

Additional Information
Before mailing employees their tax slips, send a quick email to your employees to confirm you have their most recent address.
