Updating Holiday Dates for the New Year

Check out last year's video or our new article below.

If you are using Time and Attendance, your company's 2022 holiday dates must be added in Holiday Rules so that your employees get holiday pay.

Not using Time & Attendance in Avanti? The next step in the year-end process is Update the Company Web Settings for the New Year.

Insert the Holidays Dates in Holiday Rules

Before inserting Holiday Dates, you will need to know which holidays apply to each holiday rule.

Step 1: Open Holiday Rules in the Avanti Desktop Application.
By default, this can be found in Time and Attendance >> Installation and Maintenance.

Step 2: Select a holiday rule, then select Modify.

Step 3: On the Holiday Dates tab, right-click and select Cut.

Important Information
Only Cut a holiday if the pay is already processed. If pay is not processed, select Copy instead. This may apply to Christmas and Boxing Day, depending on your pay periods.

Step 4: Right-click on the holiday date and select Paste.

Step 5: Enter the Date and adjust the Description, if required.

Step 6: Decide whether you would like the holiday date to display with a colored background in Time and Attendance. This is optional.

Additional Information
The color can help identify the holiday on screens throughout Time & Attendance.

  • If you do not want a color for the holiday, go to Step 8.

  • If you want a color for the holiday, select Color, then select … to access a color selector. Select the appropriate color.

Step 7: Select OK to save the changes.

Step 8: Repeat Steps 4 – 7 for each holiday that applies to the Holiday Rule.

Step 9: Once you have inserted all the holidays for the Holiday Rule, select OK to save.

Step 9: Repeat Steps 2 – 8 for each Holiday Rule.

Great job. Your holidays are set up for the new year. The next step in the year-end process is Update the Company Web Settings for the New Year.
