Updating Holiday Dates for the New Year

If you are using Time and Attendance, your company's 2024 holiday dates must be added in Holiday Rules so that your employees get holiday pay.

Not using Time & Attendance in Avanti? The next step in the year-end process is to Update the Company Web Settings for the New Year.

How to Add the Dates in Holiday Rules

Before inserting Holiday Dates, you’ll need to know which holidays apply to each holiday rule.

Step 1: Open Holiday Rules in the Avanti Desktop Application.
By default, this can be found in Time and Attendance >> Installation and Maintenance.

Step 2: Select a holiday rule, then select Modify.

Step 3: On the Holiday Dates tab, right-click and select Cut.

Important Information
Only Cut a holiday if the pay is already processed. If pay is not processed, select Copy
instead. Depending on your pay periods, this may apply to Christmas and Boxing Day.

Step 4: Right-click on the holiday date and select Paste.

Step 5: Enter the Holiday Date and adjust the Description if required.

Step 6: Decide whether you would like the holiday date to display with a coloured background in Time and Attendance. This is optional.

Additional Information
The colour can help identify the holiday on screens throughout Time & Attendance.

  • If you do not want a colour for the holiday, go to Step 8.

  • If you want a colour for the holiday, select Color, then select … to access a colour selector. Select the appropriate colour.

Step 7: Select OK to save the changes.

Step 8: Repeat Steps 4 to 7 for each holiday that applies to the Holiday Rule.

Step 9: Once you have inserted all the holidays for the Holiday Rule, select OK to save.

Step 10: Repeat Steps 2 to 8 for each Holiday Rule.

Great job. Your holidays are set up for the new year. The next step in the year-end process is to Update the Company Web Settings for the New Year.
