Microsoft Sign-On: Employee Cannot Sign In

If most employees can successfully log in using Microsoft Sign-On, but some employees cannot, this article will guide you through identifying and resolving the issue.

If no employees can log in using Microsoft Sign-On, please go to Microsoft Sign-On: No Employees Can Sign In.

In addition to an Avanti Administrator (Regular User), you may also require some assistance from your IT Team.

How to Confirm Avanti User Setup

Step 1: Open Avanti Users in the Avanti Desktop Application.
By default, this can be found in System Administration >> System Access Controls.

Step 2: Select a User who cannot log in using Microsoft Sign-On, then select Modify.

Step 3: Select Azure Active Directory for User authenticated by, if it is not selected.

Step 4: Select the correct Domain if it is not selected.

Step 5: On the Single Sign-On tab, update the user’s single sign-on username in SSO Username if it is incorrect.

Step 6: Select the correct Active if it is not selected.

Step 7: On the Company Settings tab, select the correct employee in Employee Number, if it is not selected and the user is an Employee Self Service User.

Additional Information
The User Class field on this screen will confirm if the employee is an Employee Self Service User.

Step 8: Select OK to save your changes.

If changes were made, please confirm whether the user can log in using Microsoft Sign-On.

How to Confirm the Microsoft Access

If Avanti User Setup was correct and the user is still unable to log in using Microsoft Sign-On, please complete the following steps.

Step 1: Confirm with the user that they can log into other applications using Microsoft Sign-On.

  • If the user is unable to log into other applications, please contact your Avanti IT. The user’s Azure Active Directory Credentials may need to be adjusted.

  • If the user can log into other applications, please contact Client Care, we’re here to help!
