Tax Slip Processing (2024-01)

Here are answers to all your questions during the Tax Slip Processing Checklist Skill-Up. Here’s the video if you’d like to watch the webinar again.

Don’t miss out on the insights shared in the presentation; the slides from the Skill-up are attached at the bottom of this article.

Q: If an employee started working in December but didn’t have dental coverage until Jan 1, should their dental code be code 1 (no dental coverage) on their 2023 T4?

A: That is correct! The code must be the employee’s available coverage as of Dec 31, 2023.

Q: How do you add the 2023 tax year?

A: You’ll need to add 2023 in Modify Transmitter Data so the year is available in Tax Slip Groups. Go to Create, Update, and Review Tax Slip Groups to learn more.

Q: How do we access the Tax Slip Change Log?

A: You can access the change log at the bottom-right corner of Modify Employee Tax Slip Data.

Q: Is there a PDF of the tax slip checklist available?

A: Yes! Here’s the Tax Slip Processing Checklist PDF.

Q: How do you know what the submission ID should be?

A: The submission ID is the same as your Transmitter ID. If you don’t have one, enter MM000000.

Q: Where do you set the delay between when tax slips are created and when they can be viewed on ASSP?

A: Go to How to Delay Tax Slip Display on ASSP to learn more about delaying tax slips from appearing on the web portal.

Q: Is a password required on T4s sent via email?

A: We recommend contacting the CRA or NPI for clarification on this legislative question.

Q: How much is the tax slip process session and the 1:1 sessions?

A: The Masterclass webinar is $449 and includes the webinar recording. The 1:1 tax slip session is $1,000 and will be dedicated time with a Care Specialist. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you’re interested in learning more.

Q: Should QPP and eQPP2 also be step 6, or should it be step 5?

A: The Calc. Step on the eQPP code should be the same as your original QPP code. For example:

  • If the original QPP had the calc step 5, then the new eQPP2 code should also be Calc. Step 5.

  • If the original QPP had the calc step 6, then the new eQPP2 code should also be Calc. Step 6.
