Logging into Your Avanti Desktop for the First Time

Is this your first time using the Avanti Desktop Application on the Cloud? You’ve come to the right place!

To get started in the Avanti Desktop, you’ll need to

  • Download the new Avanti Cloud Client

  • Create your RDP Password

  • Log into the Avanti Desktop

This is only for Avanti Clients using the Cloud. 

How to Download the Avanti Cloud Client

Anyone using Windows 7 to 11 can download the Avanti Cloud Client.

Step 1: Go to https://app.myavanti.ca and select Get the app to download the setup for the Avanti Cloud Client.

Step 2: Once the download finishes, run Setup.exe. It’ll be in your downloads folder.

Additional Information
You’ll need to run this as your windows user; please don’t have your IT run it as an administrator.

Step 3: Select Install once we’ve confirmed the system requirements are met.
You can continue to use your computer to work while the installation runs.

Step 4: Once the installation finishes, the Avanti Cloud Client opens automatically, and a shortcut is added to your Windows Desktop. Enter your serial number. If you are unsure of your serial number visit Finding Your Avanti Serial Number

Additional Information
You’ll only have to enter your serial number once; after that, we’ll remember it for you.

Step 5: You’re all done installing the Avanti Cloud Client; now it’s back to work. Enter your RDP username and password, then log into Avanti.

Step 6: You’ll want to use the Avanti Cloud Client to access Avanti from now on. Please consider moving your previous Avanti shortcut to a different location, so you don’t accidentally use the wrong one.

How to Create the RDP Password

These new credentials are only for the Remote Desktop (RDP). Once you're on the Avanti Login  screen, you'll either use Microsoft Sign-On or the Avanti Username/Password you currently use to log in. 

Step 1: Select https://selfservice.myavanti.ca/ and click on Forgot your password. Enter your Username to start the enrolment process.

Step 2: Enter your email address, then select Continue.

Step 3: Select your email address from the dropdown to get your verification code, then select Continue.

Step 4: Check your email for a verification code from PasswordService@myavanti.ca. Copy and paste the verification code into the box, click Continue.

Step 5: Create a password following the on-screen instructions. Once you're done, click Reset Password.

Additional Information
These new credentials are only for the Remote Desktop (RDP). Once you're on the Avanti Login  screen, you'll either use Microsoft Sign-On or the Avanti Username/Password you currently use to log in. 

Congratulations! You’ve set your password, and you're ready to log in using the Avanti RDP. You'll see a Password Reset Successful message. You'll also get an email confirming that your password is reset.
