Add a password reset to ASSP sign in to allow your employees to reset their password after confirming their identity - all without manual intervention by your HR or Payroll team!

If you’ve already moved to the latest ASSP, your employee can also reset their password on Avanti Go.
You’ll want to make a few decisions before setting up forgot password.
Determine the text on ASSP that users will select to reset their password.
Determine which information employees will enter to confirm their identity.

When to Use Password Reset
Password reset is only available if your employees use Avanti Security to verify their identity. If everyone uses Microsoft Single Sign-On, you shouldn’t enable password reset.
An employee must be attached to their Avanti User for someone to reset their password; we use their employee information to confirm their identity before allowing them to reset their password.
How to Change the Password Reset Text
You can change the text employees select when they’ve forgotten their password. You can decide which text displays in English as well as French.
Additional Information
By default, employees must select Forgot your Password? in English and Mot de passe oublié? in French to reset their password. If you’d like to keep these, skip to the How to Turn on Password Reset section below.
Step 1: Open Administration Settings in ASSP.
By default, this can be found in Administration.
Step 2: Use the search bar to locate PasswordResetMessage.
Step 3: Select Edit for PasswordResetMessage.
Step 4: Enter the text users will select to reset their password in Value and select Save.
Step 5: If you’re not updating the French text, skip to the How to Allow Users To Reset the Password section. Otherwise, select Edit for PasswordResetMessageFr.
Step 6: Enter the text users will select to reset their password in Value and select Save.
Step 7: Open Administration Settings on ASSP and select Reload Setting.
Additional Information
If you’ve already moved to the latest ASSP, you won’t see Reload Settings; your changes will take effect within 5 minutes.
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the password reset message.
How to Turn on Password Reset
Employees will always need to provide their primary email to reset their password. You can also add additional information that we’ll use to confirm their identity.
Additional Information
If you’ve already moved to the latest ASSP, and you don’t want employees to enter additional information to verify their identity, all that’s needed is the employees' primary email or username to confirm their identity.
Step 1: Open Self-Service Portal Security Settings in the Avanti Desktop Application.
By default, this can be found in Web Services >> Installation and Maintenance.
Step 2: Select Enable Password Reset on the Password Reset tab.
Step 3: Select Insert, then select the magnifying glass to add the information the employee will enter to confirm their identity.
Step 4: In Question, enter the text displayed when the employee resets their password and a French translation in French Question, then select OK.
Step 5: Repeat Step 3 and 4 for each piece of information you’d like employees to use to verify their identity.
Step 6: Select OK to save your changes and turn on Password Reset
