Below, you’ll find the answers to the questions asked during the Unveiling the Future: An Overview of New and Upcoming Features in Avanti. This webinar covered:

Q: When is the October release?

A: The October release is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, between 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM MST.

Q: Should we transition to the new pages now or wait till the October release?

A: We recommend doing this before release to ensure a seamless transition. You can try it out in your test environment first. Once you verify everything looks good, you can apply it to your live environment.

Q: Will our current Web Menu restrictions apply if we wait until the October release to use the latest version of the Personal Information, Emergency Contacts, Dependents, and Compensation?

A: Web Menu permissions will remain as they are and will not be impacted. The goal is to update the pages to the newest versions without affecting your configuration. We recommend reviewing the Transition Guides before the release to ensure they are moved over as expected.

Q: When are you rolling out these upcoming features?

A: We plan to release the Onboarding and Banking in late fall; Tax Docs will be closer to the new year. We’ll keep you in the loop leading up to their release so you don’t miss out.

Q: If I find a French translation that isn’t right, how can I let you know?

A: Reach out to the Client Care team for help.

Q: Will managers and admins be able to make changes to banking info on behalf of employees?

A: Managers can’t edit an employee’s Banking Information or Tax Factors. Admins can maintain and update this information on ASSP. 

Q: Will the banking info on Onboarding and ASSP scan the uploaded direct deposit document so I don’t need to check the banking info is correct?

A: No, this is currently not possible - thank you for this suggestion!

Q: I’m using the new experience already - will I need to do anything in October?

A: Everyone is on New Experience in ASSP already, you made this transition at the start of 2024.

If you’re not using the latest version of Personal Information, Emergency Contacts, Dependents, and Compensation, you’ll move up to the latest automatically in October. Check out the Overview Guides to see if you’re using the latest. Going forward, we’ll moving everyone to the latest version of ASSP features, so everyone can enjoy them.

Q: Is it possible to add our employee’s salary or hourly rate to Employee Information on ASSP?

A: Currently, you can’t see this information in ASSP without creating a report. However, it is on our product roadmap and coming soon. We will be sending out communications leading up to the release of new features and enhancements are planned, so you will be in the loop!

Q: If I allow employees to edit personal information can they edit their SIN?

A: Yes, by default they will be able to make the changes to their personal information such as the SIN number. However, it’s easy to restrict; check out Restricting Access to SIN to learn more.

Q: What user role assignments will be required for managers to view employee profiles with the new update?

A: Avanti has allowed managers to view Employee Profiles on ASSP for a while in the Employee DIrectory. Go to the Employee Directory Overview for more information. You can set which role assignments apply there and on Personal Information so your managers can access the right employee information.

Q: With Onboarding, does the information flow to Avanti Cloud automatically?

A: You’re absolutely right. Information entered during Onboarding will automatically update on the Employee Profile once Onboarding is done.

Q: Is it possible to see the previous banking info if the employee updates their info?

A: When this banking info is released, you can create a workflow that lets you know when an employee’s bank info is changed. From there, there’s a couple of ways you can find past banking info: 

  • On the Change Log in the Employee Profile.

  • You can create a report to show changes. 

Q: Will the Onboarding redesign include the ability to add fillable forms to the Onboarding workflow for certain employees if required?

A:  No, this is not currently possible. However, our Product Team know about this highly requested feature, and it’s already in the roadmap for future improvements. 

Q: Will employees be able to adjust their banking and tax information immediately upon the release of the new features?

A: No one can adjust banking details or Federal/Provincial TD1 on ASSP when those features are released. An Admin can turn on this feature by setting their desired permissions, so only those you want can make changes.

Q: What if an employee uploads a new banking and I’m already processing their pay? Will employees be prevented from updating their banking info?

A: Not in the upcoming release. Any banking changes don’t impact your payroll processing until you create an EFT file for transmission. To avoid issues, you can: 

  • Let them know that changes made after a particular day affects their next pay. 

  • Adjust the permissions on the web menu when you don’t want employees to make changes.
